Tribal swimwear has been gone from the beachwear scene for far too long. Not a lot of beachwear have made new tribal swimwear in a long time. Apart from nature designs of course, it’s certainly the oldest style of swimwear.
But finally we’re seeing it come back to life. The first swimsuit to add a truly rich tribal pattern is Anita Josetta. It’s got a multitude of different motifs and design features, all stuffed into a small space to make for a really powerful looking swimsuit.
But it’s not an overcrowded design by any means. ToIt appeals to modern fashionistas and classicists alike. The basic foundation of Josetta is a black background. This is the perfect way to make any design timeless. Your swimsuit becomes a canvas that you can paint on, or a basic garment that you can accessorise, we should say. A straw hat, a wrap, a beach bag or anything else you might take down to the coast with you. Anything goes with this swimsuit and no matter what you add, it looks as earthy and in touch with nature as it was on its own.
The motifs might not occupy a lot of space, but they certainly are impactful. The jump from the garment and have an incredible visual effect on you, making Josetta one of the finest peices of tribal swimwear we’ve ever seen and a superbly authentic item.
Anita have a huge range that includes four or five different lines. There’s room to revive any pattern or style. This is a great place to start, but we’re sure there’s plenty more to be had in the future.

Truly timeless design is a difficult thing to find an example of. Yes there’s plenty in fashion t pick from that’s enjoyed popularity for ages, but is there something that’ll just never die?
Yep! Pin up swimwear is just the thing. The name “pin up” means a lot to a lot of people. Flowers, cherries, strawberries, bows, cats and bats and little cobwebs. But today we’re interested in the classic polka dot.

Sielei’s Cannes Bikini, shown above, is our the very favourite polka dot bikini. As you can tell by the photography, polka dots just jump off the garment at you. They need almost nothing to look amazing.
What’s so special about the polka dot? “It’s versatile” is the simple answer. The other simple factor in its success is, well, simplicity. A huge part of its draw is just how much you can do with it. Buying pin up swimwear is kind of like buying a dozen different items of beachwear in one little package.
It’s easy to pair pin up swimwear and polka dots. A dress? No problem. A wrap? Absolutely! A scarf or a beach bag? Phhh, easy peasy!
This all-time-elegance made it pretty popular amongst the models of the 40s and 50s, so it’s not to see where pin up got its sexy side from. Combine the femininity of Marilyn Monroe and the sex symbols of the time and you’ve got a genre of clothing that’s suggestive and flirtatious for as long as people remember Ms Monroe.
It has been a long trip for pin up swimwear, picking up influences from all over history. We think it’s truly earned its place in the hall of fashion fame.
